The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) sets Metro fares according to the number of public-transport zones crossed; Dubai’s fare system has seven zones. Use a nol card or Red Ticket and tap it at the station gates when you enter and exit.

Regular Silver nol fares are AED 3 within one zone, AED 5 for two adjacent zones and AED 7.50 for more than two zones. Regular Gold fares are AED 6, AED 10 and AED 15 for those same fare bands.

A regular nol Red Ticket costs AED 4, AED 6 or AED 8.50; Gold Red Ticket fares are AED 8, AED 12 or AED 17.

Keep at least AED 7.50 on a nol card to use the Metro. If you change between different transport modes, make the transfer within 30 minutes for the fare system to count it as one journey. Students and senior Emiratis and residents with concession nol cards receive a 50% Metro fare discount; People of Determination travel free.

Regular station hours are Monday to Thursday, 5:00 AM–12:00 AM; Friday, 5:00 AM–1:00 AM the next day; Saturday, 5:00 AM–12:00 AM; and Sunday, 8:00 AM–12:00 AM. Hours may change during holidays and special events, so check the official site before you go.
